How to use fire extinguishers |
Grasp the cylinder by the handle and with the hose
facing forward.When you see the flames, advance to an appropriate
distance,
with the wind behind your back.
Remove the safety pin and lift the hose, gripping
it close to the nozzle
With your eyes on the flames,
firmly squeeze the valve, slowly sweeping from side to side at the base of the
fire. Focus on the flames nearest to you first, and working from the bottom
upwards. |

Comparison |
Red fire extinguishers come in two types: carbon
dioxide and dry chemical. Carbon dioxide extinguishers
have no pressure gauge
and a sleeve, while the dry chemical extinguishers have a pressure gauge.
