Nowadays, Thailand has more frequently experienced disasters and
tended to increase more and more violently
every year resulting in a great loss
in depleting social and economic values. The Asia Rescuers Competition is
regarded as an important event for the preparedness of national disaster and a
promotion of fire rescuers' capabilities
for their life saving efforts in line
with
the National Disaster Plan 1990. Also, it is
coincided with the National Preparedness Policy focusing on
all sectors to be
fully prepared and aware from the Pre-During and After stages of disaster.
In compliance with the concept of exchanging know-how as well as
gaining a skilful experience among competitors
from all participating nations,
I am more than convinced that a more solid friendly relationship will be
undoubtedly
ascertained. Moreover, a participatory role of concerned
organizations' consciousness will be harmoniously
instilled. As a result, a
great concerted effort in social contribution and enhancement of quality of
life and safety for
society will be equally maintained as idealistic rescurers.
