CONCLUSION OF CHAIRMAN 2 ARPC  TOM  KANATHAT CHANTRSIRI

Achievements:

1.      Well-recognized, supported and highly valued by many High-ranking government administration especially

H.E. Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and others who have been in close attention with the competition.

2.      Awakening by all concerned parties including rescuers, hospitals and FARA members.

3.      Strengthening the ERT networking in Thailand to be united and well-educated in international standardization.

Failures

1.      Misinterpretation of those involved with 2 ARPC who have mistakenly taken for granted of its objectives for

friendship competition, exchanging and learning with each other to be a professional rescue team. Many have

overlooked the nature of friendship instead of determining only to win.

2      Competition organizer especially myself was not able to take control of the planned events such as

         human resource development.

3.      Inability to obtain necessary competition apparatus i.e. emergency medical equipments and moving gears for

the wounded to accommodate foreign teams as per required.

Finally, I have come to light that

rescue should not be referred to competition to be awarded

which is totally out of question that

everyone aims at winning if not no win. As aforesaid, rescue is not a game that competitors only cling to

self-interest be it commercial or political gain.

But rather, it should be a matter of promoting love, unity among generous

and selfless people who are vigilant to happiness and safety to mankind.

Whoever they are, they should all be treated indiscriminately.

But I am very sorry for not doing it up to my expectation and I will not cease

to continue doing more for a good shot to come.

Irrevocably, I am determined to organize ERT Professional Rescuer Game soon

and 3 prizes will be awarded for Outstanding rescuer,

Excellence Rescuer,Very good Rescuer and Good Rescuer.

It’s enough for" Rescuer Competition" to win or to lose

but I will wholeheartedly devote myself in support of

‘win-win’ scenario for rescuers.

My thoughts for the 2nd Asia Professional Rescuer Competition 2010

First I would like to thank DrTom Kanathat Chantrsiri and the organisingcommittee for making this competition possible.

I am indeed honoured to be theChief Judge for the event and it is my pleasure to share on my observations during the competition.

The objectives of the 2nd Asia Professional Rescuer Competition 2010 include sharing of knowledge and skills on pre-hospital care, appreciate and understand the different management in managing the same casualty, and also the coming together for friendship.

During this event, I am certain that all the above objectives have been met. It is indeed heart-warming to see competitors from different teams mingle together. Despite the fact that they were to compete against one another, they selflessly share their equipments with teams from Malaysia and Singapore, and show them on the use of those equipments that the other teams are not familiar with. I am sure the bonding shared over the past days would be the beginning of a new friendship for many of us.

This competition is not all about winning. As I move around during the competition, I am very impressed with the teams participating in the event. The team spirit among team members is commendable. They have demonstrated the highest level of care for their casualty. I have also noted that many teams have adopted standard procedures in the management of the casualties which is what APFA has always wanted to achieve.

I am looking forward with much anticipation for the next competition to be held in year 2012 in Malaysia.
